How Much Does It Cost to Hire a Car in Bali? A Family Guide to Self-Drive Adventures
How much does it cost to hire a car in Bali? We have just completed an 8 day self drive Bali road trip as an Aussie family of 6. We hired our car from a business in Sanur Bali, for approx $30AUD a day. Car hire can vary though depending on your size, needs and the “newness” of the vehicle. So a good rule of thumb is $30-$70AUD per day. Obviously the longer you hire the more you can get a better deal! Some things to keep in mind; - **International Driving Permit (IDP):** - Ensure you have an IDP alongside your home country’s driver’s license. Carry both and your passport at all times! - **Rental Insurance:** - Verify the car rental includes comprehensive insurance. Understand what is covered, especially in case of accidents or theft. Check that you are covered by your own travel insurance too! **Reputable Rental Company:** - Choose a well-reviewed and reputable rental company to avoid scams or poor-quality vehicles. ** Vehicle Condition:** - Inspect the car thoroughly for any preexisting damage. Document and report any issues to avoid being charged for them later. Take a video of the outside and inside of the car car. - **Rental Agreement:** - Read and understand the rental agreement. Pay attention to the terms regarding fuel policy, mileage limits, and additional charges. - **Emergency Contact:** - Obtain the rental company’s emergency contact number and ensure they offer roadside assistance. You will need to have a what’s app contact for 24/7 issues just in case! - **Traffic Rules and Road Conditions:** - Familiarize yourself with local traffic laws and common road conditions, including driving on the left side of the road. **Security Deposit:** - Be aware of the security deposit amount required and how it will be refunded. - **Fuel Stations:** - Identity the locations of nearby fuel enough stations and preterred tuel types for the car. You will need to return the car with the samef our level of fuel or more then when starting the hire. - **Local Driving Etiquette:** - Understand local driving habits and practices, which may differ significantly from those in your home country. Most of all... Have fun Chad and Mia #bali #indonesia #carhire #selfdrive #cost
