Crafting Joy in Bali: A Family Moment Wrapped in Yarn

September 15, 2025

Craft in Bali has become a little healing moment for me. Watching Lola fall in love with crochet has been so inspiring – now I keep seeing little projects popping up all over our house. This week we whipped up this chunky hand-knitted bed runner in just an hour… and I’m secretly hoping it keeps Chad’s grubby feet off my white hand-made linen. Sometimes the simplest moments – yarn, laughter, and a little creativity – feel like the biggest wins. #BaliFamilyFinds #BaliWithKids #FamilyLifeInBali #CraftInBali #CrochetLove

There’s a quiet kind of magic that happens when you slow down, pick up some yarn, and let your hands—and heart—do the work. On our latest Bali adventure, I found that magic in the simplest of family moments: crafting with my daughter, Lola. What began as a fun little workshop in a local artisan space quickly turned into a shared passion. Watching Lola’s eyes light up as she learned to crochet was one of those unforgettable parenting wins. We started small—granny squares and miniature toys—but this week, we took on our boldest project yet: a chunky hand-knitted bed runner. It took just an hour, lots of giggles, and a heap of yarn. The result? A cozy, textured piece that now lives at the foot of our bed, adding not only warmth to our bedroom but also a sweet memory to our travel story. (And yes, I’m hoping it finally serves as a barrier between Chad’s dusty feet and my lovingly hand-washed white linen!) Bali has a way of inviting you to reconnect—from sunrise beach walks to hands-on workshops in local villages. Crafting here isn’t just a hobby—it’s a healing, soulful experience. Whether it’s weaving, batik painting, or picking up a crochet hook, it’s the perfect slow-travel activity for families craving quality time. If you're traveling to Bali with kids, I highly recommend carving out time for a family craft session. It’s amazing what can bloom when you mix creativity, connection, and Bali’s inspiring spirit. #BaliFamilyFinds #BaliWithKids #FamilyLifeInBali #CraftInBali #CrochetLove
