Karma Camouflage: My Hilarious Encounter with a Chameleon in Bali

Bali may be known for its lush landscapes, stunning temples, and serene beaches—but on our recent family adventure, it was a sneaky little chameleon that stole the show (and the spotlight in our vacation photos!).

While exploring a local animal sanctuary tucked in the heart of Ubud, we were introduced to a super chill chameleon. Naturally, I couldn’t resist the chance to hold it. Cue the impromptu photo shoot—and that’s when things got entertaining. 🎶 "You come and gooo…" 🎶

Just as we lined up to take a picture, the chameleon casually started blending into my tropical shirt like it was its full-time job. We called it "karma camouflage"—because looking back at that photo, it's anyone’s guess what I'm holding. My kids were in stitches, and I haven't laughed that hard in ages. Nature’s sense of humor is underrated!

Beyond the giggles, it was a great reminder that wildlife encounters in Bali can be both educational and massively fun for the whole family. Many animal sanctuaries across the island offer hands-on, ethical experiences where kids (and adults!) can connect with unique local creatures in a safe, respectful setting.
