Turning Our Backyard Pond into Bali’s Ultimate Homeschool Science Experiment!

The Koi Chronicles: Our Biggest Homeschool Science Experiment Yet! 🐠🌿 Our little backyard pond has officially become the biggest homeschooling science experiment we’ve ever taken on—and honestly, it’s thriving! First up, we welcomed a new resident this week… meet Chips! 🐢💙 Our little turtle has officially moved in, and if you’re wondering about his name, well… his pond-mates are named Fish. So now we have Fish & Chips. We couldn’t resist. 😂 But that’s not all—we’ve been busy in the garden too! After our white lotus flowers dried out, we collected the seeds, sanded down the bottoms, and started soaking them to (hopefully!) sprout more lotus plants. I’ve always loved teaching the kids how to grow something new from something we already have—it’s such a simple but powerful lesson in patience, nature, and sustainability. And now for the biggest news of the week… we can officially add Koi Fish Farmers to our homeschooling credentials! 🎉🐟 Well… we think they’re koi fish. 🤣 There were dozens of tiny baby fish darting around the pond, but whether they’re koi or just goldfish—we won’t know for sure until they grow a little more. We managed to rescue 3... (We wont talk about the rest! Thanks Fish and Chips!). Either way, we’re counting it as a win! Watching the kids take ownership of this little ecosystem, learning about life cycles, water quality, and how everything in nature connects—it’s been incredible. Who knew a simple pond could turn into such a hands-on, living classroom? Stay tuned… next week we might just start taking applications for our Koi Farm Apprenticeship Program. 😉🐟🌱 #HomeschoolScience #KoiFishFarmers #BackyardEcosystem #GrowingAndLearning #FishAndChips #NatureSchool #BaliLife #LotusFlowers #PondLife #HandsOnLearning #ChadAndMia
