After 1.5 years in Bali… my kids now instinctively drop into the Asian Squat for anything at ground level 😂 Shoes, snacks, cute dogs — it’s the Bali way and we’re here for it 🥹 It’s one of those little things that reminds us just how much this place has become home ❤️ #BaliWithKids #AsianSquat #BaliLife #FamilyInBali #ChadAndMia #TravelWithKids #BaliVibes

After 18 months of living in Bali, our kids don't think twice about dropping into a perfect Asian Squat to tie a shoelace, pick up a snack, or say hi to a friendly street dog. It's become second nature — and honestly, just one of those surprising (and adorable) ways life here has shaped us all.

At first, it was funny. They'd squat with their heels flat to the ground like seasoned locals while we grown-ups were still wobbling, trying to keep balance. But over time, it clicked. Their flexibility and ease in this position mirrors how they’ve adapted to Bali life overall — effortlessly, curiously, and with open hearts.

Living in Bali with kids has taught us so much. The island has a rhythm to it — slower, community-oriented, deeply connected to nature. It invites presence. Our days are filled with barefoot beach walks, scooter rides through rice fields, and plenty of time spent outdoors. It’s no wonder our children have picked up more than just a new squat — they’ve gained a new way of looking at the world.

Families considering a move (or even just an extended trip) to Bali will find it incredibly kid-friendly. From outdoor learning opportunities and welcoming locals to fresh, healthy food and a strong sense of community, Bali offers more than a vacation — it's a lifestyle shift.

So yes, our kids now instinctively squat in a way we never taught them — but it’s really a sign of something bigger. They’ve adapted, embraced, and truly made Bali their home. And we’re here for it. ❤️
