Chitato Chips and Unexpected Nostalgia – Our Snack-Fueled Bali Milestone
Loading video player...
We might have officially tried every Chitato flavour now 😅 After two years of living here, it feels like a weird little milestone. But these two were some of the first flavours we ever tried when we moved here — and honestly, still delicious. Sometimes it’s the small, random snacks that end up feeling the most nostalgic 🤍

After two amazing years living in Bali as a family, we’ve hit an unexpectedly hilarious milestone—we’ve officially tried every flavor of Chitato chips! 😅 It might sound silly, but this snack-sized achievement brought back a wave of nostalgia we didn’t expect.

When we first landed on the Island of the Gods, we were overwhelmed in the best way: new sights, new routines, new flavors. In between beach days and temple visits, grabbing a bag of Chitato from the corner warung became a comforting, tasty ritual. Our first flavors—Sapi Panggang (Grilled Beef) and Original—were instant favorites. Two years later? Still just as satisfying.

In a place as vibrant and soul-stirring as Bali, it’s often the little things—like picking out the perfect snack before a road trip to Ubud or a weekend surf session in Canggu—that tie your daily life together. Chitato, with its crinkly texture and unmistakable seasoning, became an unintentional thread in our family’s Bali experience. And hey, when your kids start requesting ‘that wavy potato chip that tastes like ramen’, you know it’s made an impression.

For families thinking about making the move or planning an extended stay in Bali, don’t underestimate the joy of the simple stuff. Yes, the waterfalls and rice terraces will take your breath away—but so will the comfort of recognizing your favorite snack on the store shelf. These small joys become cherished memories more often than you’d think.

So here’s to two years of sunshine, sambal, and yes, salty snacks. Bali has a way of making the ordinary feel magical—and sometimes, that magic tastes like barbecue-flavored potato chips.
