Homeschooling in Bali ✏️🌏—Accessing resources can be tricky, so in 2024 we focused on being as paper-free as possible. But for 2025, we’re adding more writing and handwriting practice to our curriculum. 📚 While back in Australia, I stocked up on resource books for the kids to fill out in pencil and keep their handwriting sharp! ✍️ On the plus side, their typing skills have definitely levelled up this year! ⌨️ #HomeschoolLife #BaliHomeschool #WorldSchooling #FamilyTravel #BaliWithKids

Homeschooling in Bali comes with its own set of unique challenges and rewards, especially as we step into 2025. One of the big focuses for our family this year is striking the right balance between digital learning and handwriting practice. After all, while our kids’ typing skills have soared from the paper-free approach we tried in 2024, there’s something timeless and incredibly valuable about putting pencil to paper. ✍️✨ When we returned to Australia late last year, I made it a mission to stock up on all the resource books we’d need. From workbooks that encourage creative writing to simple practice sheets for letter formation—these tools are now key players in our day-to-day learning routine here in Bali. The tactile process of writing has not only been beneficial for their fine motor skills but has also added a grounding element to our otherwise screen-heavy curriculum. Of course, homeschooling in Bali offers unique opportunities to embrace flexibility. Resources aren’t always as accessible here, and that’s a challenge many traveling families experience. Yet, with the stunning natural environment 🌴🌏 and a thriving world schooling community, adaptation becomes second nature. For us, this has meant finding harmony between leveraging technology for subjects like coding and math while incorporating just enough traditional handwriting to ensure we’re keeping things well-rounded. The bonus? These shifts also give us quality downtime away from devices to bond over shared creative moments as a family. Whether it’s journaling about a beach day or drawing diagrams for science lessons, a pencil and a blank sheet of paper have become tools for connection as much as learning. If you’re considering homeschooling in Bali, my advice is to keep it balanced—embrace the digital, but don’t forget the power of old-school handwriting. Here’s to a year of growth, creativity, and adaptability! 🌟 #HomeschoolLife #BaliHomeschool #WorldSchooling #BaliWithKids
