One of those unexpected roadside moments 🤍 We pulled over on the mountain road between Bedugul and Munduk and met Mayuni (I hope I’ve spelt that right), sitting calmly surrounded by wild monkeys. There are a few little stops along this road where locals sell fruit for people to feed them, and while I’m usually not the biggest fan of monkeys… these ones felt different. Mums with their babies, gentle, curious, and completely at ease with her. She was like the mother hen of the group, calm, caring, and just part of their world. We ended up having the loveliest chat. Practicing my Indonesian, talking about family, where we’re from, and yes… confirming that all four kids are actually mine 😅 She also told Chad he was a very lucky man… to which I said, he knows 😂 Simple, real, and one of those moments you don’t plan but end up remembering 🤍
