Day 3 of Our Bali Road Trip: From Amed to Kintamani with Garden Views & Hot Springs

🚗 Day 3 of our Bali family road trip was a perfect mix of cultural charm and natural beauty, taking us from the quiet coastal town of Amed to the cool mountain air of Kintamani. We started the day early with a visit to the stunning Tirta Gangga Water Palace. The kids were thrilled to feed the koi fish while we soaked in the peaceful energy of the manicured gardens and elegant stonework—definitely a must-see for families! Afterwards, we set off toward Kintamani. Google Maps originally took us on what felt more like a hiking trail than a road—full of steep inclines and tight curves. With some laughter and a bit of backtracking, we opted for the more scenic (and less heart-racing) route through lush rice terraces and local villages. By late afternoon, we reached Kintamani and were immediately welcomed by the cooler mountain breeze. We headed straight to one of the area’s famous hot springs overlooking Lake Batur. Imagine soaking in warm volcanic water while gazing out at Bali’s iconic volcano—pure magic! It was the perfect way to relax after hours on the road.
