This scenic journey along Bali’s eastern coastline was the perfect way to kick off our 8-day adventure. **First Stop: Goa Lawah Temple** 🏯 On our way, we couldn’t resist a stop at Goa Lawah, the famous Bat Cave Temple. The sight of thousands of bats hanging from the cave ceiling was both incredible and eerie. It’s a quick visit but definitely worth the stop for its cultural significance and unique atmosphere. **Coastal Views & Hidden Beaches** 🌊 The road from Sanur to Candi Dasa is breathtaking, with lush greenery on one side and waves crashing against the shore on the other. We made a spontaneous detour to Virgin Beach – a serene, white-sand paradise just off the beaten track. The kids loved playing in the gentle waves while we enjoyed fresh coconut juice from a beachside warung. **Arriving in Candi Dasa** 🌴 By late afternoon, we reached Candi Dasa, a peaceful coastal village known for its relaxed vibe and stunning sunset views. We checked into our beachfront bungalow and unwound with a delicious seafood dinner at one of the local warungs. Watching the sun dip below the horizon was the perfect way to end our first day. This was only the beginning of an unforgettable Bali road trip.
