Sending a parcel from Bali to Australia? Here’s exactly what it cost us, what you need, and how long it takes 🇮🇩➡️🇦🇺📦 Bookmark this for your next Bali trip!

Planning to send a parcel from Bali to Australia? Whether it’s souvenirs for family back home or a suitcase of that dreamy Balinese decor you couldn’t resist, here’s what you need to know before heading to the post office. ✨📦

Cost: We paid IDR 1,050,000 (approx AUD 105) to send a 7kg box via EMS (Express Mail Service) from Denpasar to Sydney. Prices vary by weight and delivery speed, but budget around IDR 150,000–200,000 per kg for standard international shipping.

Where to Post: You can send international parcels from most larger Indonesian Post (POS Indonesia) branches. We used the main post office in Renon, Denpasar – efficient, tourist-friendly, and they even helped with packaging!

What You’ll Need:

  • Passport (for ID)
  • Detailed content list for the parcel
  • Australian address written clearly (in English)

Pro Tips: Avoid shipping prohibited items (like lithium batteries, liquids, or food). The staff will inspect the box before sealing. Bring an extra bag in case you need to repack items.

Delivery Time: Our parcel took 12 days door-to-door via EMS. Standard mail can take up to 3–4 weeks, so plan accordingly – especially if you’re sending gifts or need items to arrive before you return home.

Is it worth it? If your bags are overflowing or you fell in love with handicrafts at a Ubud market, definitely! Just factor in weight, timeframe, and customs rules.

✨ Tip: Take a photo of your shipping receipt and tracking number. You can monitor your parcel’s journey from Bali to Oz at EMS Indonesia Tracking.
