Lola is my little shadow, always by my side, and this week, for the first time in a long time, we’re spending a few days apart. I’m heading back to Australia solo (yes, completely by myself!), and while I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous, this trip is proving something important—to both of us.
For me, that I can do this. That I am still me, even when I’m not looking after someone else. And for Lola, that she’ll be just fine without Mumma there for a few days (even if we both shed a few tears).
