Bali Bathroom Surprise: When Island Life Gets a Little Too Wild

Just when I thought I’d seen it all in Bali… there’s a crab in my bathroom. A CRAB. 🦀 This isn’t the beach, buddy! #BaliLife #OnlyInBali #BaliLiving #BaliProblems #IslandLife

Just when I thought I’d seen everything that Bali had to offer—sacred temples, lush rice terraces, infinite beaches—I met an unexpected guest in the most surprising place: my bathroom. A crab. 🦀 In the bathroom. Now, this wasn't a beachside villa. Far from the surf and sand, nestled in the inland greenery of Ubud, I found myself face to claw with a cheeky crustacean who apparently wanted a tour of our toiletries. Welcome to #BaliLife—where nature doesn't stop at your doorstep. Island living in Bali is magical, but it’s also wonderfully unpredictable. With families booking eco-villas and jungle hideaways, it’s not unusual to encounter a gecko climbing the wall, a frog serenading you from the sink, or, yes, even a crab popping in for a visit. These tiny surprises are part of the charm—and occasionally, the comedy—of staying on an island where wildlife happily coexists with humans. If you're planning a Bali family vacation, especially with little ones in tow, these quirky encounters make for fun stories and unforgettable memories. The kids? They loved it. Named him “Crabzilla” and insisted we make him an honorary guest. Pro tip: always check under the bathmat, and consider choosing accommodations with good screens and sealed bathrooms if you’d prefer a little more separation from nature. Ultimately, these are the moments that make travel truly vibrant. A little wild, totally unexpected, and completely Bali. #OnlyInBali #BaliProblems #BaliLiving #FamilyTravel #IslandLife
