Wild Encounters in Bali: Living Among Exotic Creatures

“What is THAT?!” 🦎🐸🕷️ Living in Bali means stepping into a whole new ecosystem, and even though we’ve come from a tropical climate, we’re still surprised every single day by the creatures we share our home with. Some are beautiful, some are terrifying (especially when they appear mid-shower 😳), but all of them are a reminder that we’re living in nature’s backyard. Since moving into our villa, we’ve been on a wildlife adventure without even leaving home. From the tiny bright green or brown frogs that have a personal vendetta against me in the bathroom 🚿🐸 to the giant golden orb spiders that spin the most intricate, shimmering webs, and the geckos that chirp their way through the night—this place is alive in a way that still amazes us. Then there are the unexpected surprises—a baby scorpion on the doorstep, a stick insect so big it looked straight out of a sci-fi movie, and the most stunning butterflies that float through our garden like something from a dream. Every day, we’re reminded that Bali isn’t just about beaches and sunsets—it’s about coexisting with the wildlife that makes this island so special. Sure, not every encounter is a welcome one (I may or may not have screamed over the giant worm in the laundry 😅), but there’s something magical about watching the kids get excited over a new discovery, or learning about these creatures and the role they play in the environment. Swipe through to see some of the wild visitors we’ve had so far—some cute, some creepy, but all a part of what makes Bali life an adventure. 🌿✨ What’s the most interesting creature you’ve ever stumbled across while traveling? 🧐👇 #BaliWildlife #LivingInNature #BaliLife #UnexpectedVisitors #IslandLiving #EcoSystem #WildEncounters #LifeInBali

**What is THAT?!** 🦎🐸🕷️ Living in Bali is like stepping into a real-life nature documentary, where every day brings a new, unexpected wildlife encounter. While we knew this island was lush and tropical, we never imagined just how many creatures would share our home—sometimes in the most surprising ways! Our villa has become a sanctuary for Bali’s wildlife, from tiny, bright green frogs that seem to have a personal grudge against me (especially in the bathroom! 🚿🐸) to the giant golden orb spiders spinning mesmerizing webs in the garden. And let’s not forget the geckos—our uninvited but entertaining housemates—chirping through the night. Then, just as we think we've seen it all, Bali throws in a new surprise. One morning, a baby scorpion greeted us on the doorstep. Another day, a stick insect the size of my arm made me question my grip on reality. And the butterflies—oh, the butterflies! Floating through the air like miniature painted dreamscapes, they never fail to enchant us. Of course, not every encounter is a welcome one (I may or may not have screamed at a giant worm in the laundry 😅), but each reminds us that we’re living in nature’s backyard. Watching the kids’ excitement as they discover a new creature or learning about the role of these fascinating beings in the ecosystem has been an incredible part of our adventure.
