Broken Beach on Nusa Penida: Nature’s Masterpiece Worth Waking Up For

Visiting Nusa Penida is like stepping into another world—a place where nature has carved out pure magic. One of the most iconic spots on the island is Broken Beach, with its stunning natural stone arch framing the ocean like something out of a dream. Standing there, looking out at the vast blue sea through this incredible formation, it’s easy to feel like you’ve just stepped into a living postcard. 🌊✨ But while the views are breathtaking, the crowds can be overwhelming. It’s one of those experiences that’s equal parts awe-inspiring and chaotic, as you try to soak in the beauty while navigating the sea of visitors who, just like you, are trying to capture their perfect shot. Lesson learned: getting there early is the way to go if you want to experience Broken Beach in a more serene and peaceful state. For our family, it was a mix of emotions. The sheer height and drop of the cliffs left us divided. Fox wasn’t having any part of the edge—he stayed well back, content to take it all in from a safe distance (and honestly, we can’t blame him!). Meanwhile, Jed was ready to dive into the waters below, dreaming of an adventure. The rest of us stood somewhere in between, marvelling at the sight but wishing we could’ve enjoyed it without the hustle and bustle of the crowd. Even with the busy vibe, Broken Beach left its mark on us. It’s a place that makes you feel small in the best possible way, a reminder of just how wild and wonderful nature can be. And as chaotic as it was, we wouldn’t trade the memories for anything—though next time, we’ll set that alarm a little earlier. 🏝️ Have you been to Nusa Penida? Did you brave the edges or stick to the safe zone like Fox?
