How Christmas Morning Looks When You're Traveling With Kids in Bali

What time did your Christmas morning kick off? 🎁 5am here… third coffee deep and still going ☕😂

**Christmas morning in Bali hits differently—especially with kids in tow.** 🌴 While the rest of the island is just beginning to stir, our family’s day kicked off at a not-so-festive 5am (thank you, jet lag and holiday excitement). The stockings were raided before sunrise, paper was everywhere by 6, and by 7am we were already three cups of coffee deep. ☕😂 But despite the early start, there’s something magical about spending the holidays somewhere tropical. Instead of snow, we’ve got sunshine. Instead of turkey, we’re planning a beach BBQ. And while Santa may have traded in his sleigh for a scooter here, the Christmas spirit is very much alive. Many Bali resorts and villas go all out for the holidays, offering festive breakfasts, kid-friendly activities, and even a visit from Santa Claus (in flip-flops, of course). If you’re staying in Seminyak, check out family brunches at beachfront cafés—many welcome kids with open arms and even offer Christmas-themed treats. In Ubud, the vibe is a bit quieter, but you’ll find yoga classes with holiday twists and artisan markets for last-minute gifts. Traveling with little ones during the holidays can be intense, sure—but it's also wildly rewarding. Watching your kids experience Christmas by the pool, coconuts in hand, with giggles bouncing off the rice terraces? Unforgettable. **Pro tip:** If your kids are early risers like ours, prep a small activity kit the night before—coloring pages, festive puzzles, or a mini scavenger hunt can buy you enough time for that crucial first coffee. So here’s to Christmas mornings filled with chaos, cuddles, and coconuts. And maybe—just maybe—that fourth cup of coffee. ☕🎄
