๐จ COMING TO BALI? HERE ARE 7 MISTAKES TO AVOID! ๐ฎ๐ฉ๐ด Bali is an incredible place to holiday, especially with kids, but there are a few things we wish more people knew before they arrived. After living here and exploring the island as a family, we've seen (and occasionally learned the hard way ๐) that a little preparation can make a BIG difference to your holiday. Here are 7 common mistakes to avoid when planning your Bali adventure: 1๏ธโฃ Not sorting your travel documents before you arrive. Check your visa requirements, complete your electronic customs declaration and remember the Bali tourist levy. Getting these organised ahead of time makes arrival so much smoother. 2๏ธโฃ Assuming everywhere in Bali is close together. That waterfall, beach club and restaurant might look close on a map, but traffic can turn a short journey into a very long one. Plan your days by location! 3๏ธโฃ Forgetting to keep a small amount of cash on hand. Cards are widely accepted in many tourist areas, but smaller warungs, markets, parking attendants and local businesses may still prefer cash. Keep some Indonesian rupiah handy. 4๏ธโฃ Not respecting local customs. Bali is deeply rooted in culture and religion. Dress appropriately when visiting temples, respect ceremonies and offerings, and remember that you're a guest in someone else's home. 5๏ธโฃ Underestimating the sun and heat. The tropical weather can catch you out, especially with children. Pack sunscreen, hats and plenty of water, and plan some downtime in the shade. 6๏ธโฃ Drinking tap water. Stick to bottled or properly filtered drinking water, and be mindful of ice and food hygiene, particularly when travelling with little ones. 7๏ธโฃ Trying to cram too much into each day. Bali is best enjoyed when you leave room to slow down. Allow time for pool days, spontaneous stops and those unexpected little moments that often become your favourite memories. ๐ BONUS MISTAKE: Not checking the tide before heading to the beach! Some of Bali's most beautiful beaches change dramatically with the tides. Low tide can expose coral and rocks, making swimming and snorkelling difficult or unsafe in certain spots.
