✨ Making Jamu in My Bali Kitchen – Yes, it Got on My Shirt! ✨ If you’ve ever visited Bali, you’ve likely spotted that glowing golden drink at cafés, markets, and even beachside stands. Meet Jamu – a traditional Indonesian wellness tonic that’s just as nourishing as it looks. Made with turmeric, ginger, and a few simple ingredients, it’s a centuries-old Balinese health secret. Bonus? It’s family-friendly and super easy to make at home! We whipped up a batch in our Bali kitchen today, and yes — in true turmeric fashion, it stained my shirt. But totally worth it. Why? Because Jamu supports digestion, boosts immunity, and helps reduce inflammation – perfect for staying healthy on long travel days or recovering after that third plate of nasi goreng. 😅 Here’s our go-to Jamu recipe: 🥕 1 cup fresh turmeric (peeled & chopped) 🫚 ½ cup fresh ginger (peeled & chopped) 🍍 Juice of 1 lime 🍯 2 tbsp honey (local if possible!) 💧 4 cups water ➡️ Blend turmeric, ginger, and water until smooth ➡️ Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth ➡️ Stir in honey and lime juice ➡️ Bottle, chill, and enjoy daily! It’s earthy, zesty, and totally customizable. We make ours a touch sweeter for the kids, and it’s a hit! Store in glass bottles in the fridge, and you’ve got a week’s worth of natural energy and goodness.
