The ‘Twin’ Trick That Keeps Our Kids (and Us) Laughing in Bali

The ‘Twin’ Trick That Keeps Our Kids (and Us) Laughing in Bali

Fox and Lola had me in absolute stitches today! 😂 They came out dressed as “twins” — and honestly, it’s not that surprising because when we head out as a family, that’s one of the questions we get asked all the time. And without missing a beat, these two always say yes! Which cracks me up every single time — because as much as they might want to be, they most definitely are not! They’re close in age (less than 16 months apart) but that’s where the twin story ends. So today when we were heading out to run a few errands and Lola came out raiding Fox’s wardrobe, I didn’t even argue — I just giggled all day. These two keep the running joke alive and honestly, it’s been going on for years. Do your kids have any little stories or jokes they keep going just for fun? I’d love to know how long they’ve managed to keep them up for — I think ours might take this one to adulthood! 😂 #BaliFamilyFinds #FamilyLifeInBali #Siblings #FunnyKids #FamilyMoments #BaliWithKids #ParentingStories #TwinsButNotTwins

If you're exploring Bali with kids, be prepared for the unexpected — and a whole lot of laughs. Our little duo, Fox and Lola, delivered another classic moment today that had everyone grinning. They emerged from their room dressed exactly alike, beaming with pride at their “twin” outfits. Of course, they’re not twins — not even close (okay, 16 months apart, but still). Yet every time someone asks, they nod in sync and say, “Yes, we’re twins!” without missing a beat. This running joke has followed us from Ubud’s monkey forests to Canggu’s beach cafés, and it never fails to amuse. Lola regularly raids Fox’s wardrobe, and today she struck gold — matching board shorts and tees that had them looking like a Bali version of the Parent Trap. I didn’t stop them — how could I? Watching their bond and shared humor is one of the sweetest parts of our Bali family adventure. It’s these little moments that highlight how magical traveling — and living — in Bali with kids really is. The island has a pace that lets you appreciate sibling banter and lazy afternoons filled with giggles. Whether we’re grabbing fruit at a local warung or navigating rice field pathways, their “twin act” keeps spirits light and locals endlessly amused. Do your kids have a long-running joke like this? I’d love to hear how fellow families are creating laugh-out-loud memories during their travels. For us, this ‘twin’ routine shows no signs of ending — I’m betting it’ll still be going strong into their teens! #BaliFamilyFinds #TwinsButNotTwins #BaliWithKids #FamilyLifeInBali #ParentingStories #TravelingWithKids
