Honoring Balinese Culture: A Heartfelt Galungan Celebration with Our Team

This week we put together Galungan hampers for our team, and even though not all of our staff are Hindu or celebrate Galungan, we felt it was really important to acknowledge such a big cultural moment here in Bali. Traditionally, a Galungan hamper might include things like: • fruit • cakes or jajan Bali • coffee and tea • cooking staples • small treats for the home • sometimes ceremonial ingredients or offerings Ours were a little different — more of a “snack hamper” — but filled with care and intention. We actually had a local company in Denpasar put them together for us, and they did such a beautiful job. For some of our staff, it was their first ever Galungan gift, which made it even more special. It was honestly a tricky balance: we never want anyone to feel left out, unseen or that we are only acknowledging one religion. But living here, being welcomed here, and working side by side with such a beautiful team… honouring big cultural celebrations feels important. And seeing everyone smile, laugh, compare snacks, and feel appreciated made our whole week. Happy Galungan to everyone celebrating, and to our team, thank you for everything you do. We are so grateful for you all. 🤍 @balifamilyfinds #Galungan #BaliCulture #BaliLife #ChadAndMia #BaliFamilyFinds #BalineseTradition #TeamAppreciation #LivingInBali
