Homeschooling in Bali: How One Aussie Family is Navigating Education Abroad

🎒✨ Homeschooling in Bali — Aussie family style 🇦🇺🌴 This video is from over a year ago, and while the core info is still helpful, things have definitely evolved since then! Here's what’s changed: 1️⃣ We’ve officially stopped reporting — no more check-ins, yahoo! (Also 😅 I’m now fully responsible for everything we do!) 2️⃣ We’ve shifted to a flexible model — still using the QLD curriculum as a base, especially for English & Math, but now incorporating more Aussie resource books and hands-on learning. 3️⃣ Our week looks like: 📚 Mon–Wed: core curriculum 📘 Thurs: resource book day 🎉 Fri: Fun Friday – learning through something fun like an adventure or a creative project! Why? Because international school fees here are next-level 💸 and homeschooling gives us the freedom to hit pause and take spontaneous learning trips — and we LOVE that. 💡 Thinking about homeschooling your kids abroad or in Bali? This setup has worked beautifully for us (with lots of coffee ☕ and patience). #HomeschoolBali #AustralianHomeschoolers #BaliWithKids #HomeschoolingAbroad #BaliFamilyLife #ChadAndMiaOfficial #BaliHomeschool #FlexibleLearning #AussieInBali #BaliLife #FamilyTravel #WorldSchooling #QLDCurriculum #ExpatFamilyBali

Dreaming of Bali with kids in tow? One Aussie family is living that tropical homeschool dream — sandy toes, schoolbooks, and spontaneous adventures included! 🇦🇺🌴 Originally guided by Queensland’s curriculum, this family has evolved their homeschool setup to fit island life. No more official check-ins or reporting requirements – they’ve embraced full flexibility (but with a sprinkle of structure to keep things balanced). Their week flows like this: 📚 Monday to Wednesday: Core subjects like English and Math, staying aligned with Aussie standards. 📘 Thursday: Resource Book Day – diving into practice books and supplemental learning. 🎉 Friday: The best part – Fun Friday! Think beach clean-ups, nature hikes, or cooking lessons turned into science class. Learning by doing. Why go this route? Bali's international school fees can be eye-watering 💸, and homeschooling offers a more affordable, adaptable alternative. Plus, flexibility means they can say “yes” to beach days, cultural trips, and local experiences that turn into teachable moments. They’ve also woven in Australian educational resources to keep things familiar, especially important when living far from home. Patience, creativity, and a lot of coffee ☕ fuel their days — along with a deep belief that learning doesn’t just happen behind a desk. Thinking about homeschooling abroad or in Bali? This laid-back, hands-on approach might just be your family’s perfect fit. Whether you're planning a long stay or just exploring options, Bali offers a vibrant backdrop for world-schooling with heart.
