๐ช I THINK BISCUITS ARE THE BEST WAY TO TEST A NEW OVEN. ๐ One of the little joys of moving into a new house is discovering how everything works. And naturally, when we realised we had a new gas oven, I needed to test it out. What better way than biscuits? ๐๐ช While I was busy baking, the kids decided they had their own little project to tackle... Building their bunk bed. It took them a day and a half, but they actually did it! They read the instructions, worked out what went where, used Lola's cordless drill, which normally gets used with her knitting machine ๐, and only called Dad in when things got a little too tall or heavy. For the most part, they figured it out themselves. And honestly, watching them work through it together was pretty awesome. Then, just when we'd reached peak new-house chaos, our amazing neighbours dropped around with homemade cheese and onion veggie pasties, ready to go straight into the new oven. ๐ฅฐ So let's recap... ๐ง๐ผ Kids entertained ๐จ Bunk bed built ๐ช New oven successfully tested ๐ฅ Delicious pasties from the best neighbours โ๏ธ Biscuit ready for my late-night cuppa in bed Honestly... Perfect day. โค๏ธ I think this is what I'm loving most about this new chapter. It's not the big exciting things. It's the everyday stuff. Kids learning to build things themselves, neighbours dropping food around, baking biscuits in the new oven and slowly turning a new house into our home. Pretty bloody good. ๐ดโค๏ธ
