I've said it before, and I'll probably say it a hundred more times... Some of the best places we've found in Bali have come from local recommendations. Not places with giant signs out the front. Not places that are all over Instagram. Just little businesses that locals quietly tell you about because they genuinely think you'll love them. Kurro Cheese Factory was one of those recommendations. @kurrocheesefactory If you're expecting a big café with comfy lounges and somewhere to settle in for an afternoon, this isn't it. It's a tiny little hole-in-the-wall style shop. There's barely enough room to browse the cabinet, let alone sit down. But don't let that fool you. What they lack in size, they more than make up for in cheesecake. We recently ordered one of their whole tiramisu cheesecakes for a birthday and, honestly, it was one of those desserts where everyone goes quiet after the first bite. Rich. Creamy. Not overly sweet. Just ridiculously good. I'll admit, they're not cheap. It's definitely more of a special occasion treat than an everyday dessert. But every now and then, I think it's worth spending a little extra on something that's been made really, really well. I also love supporting little businesses like this. Places that pour all of their energy into doing one thing exceptionally well. You can tell there's a lot of pride behind what they make, and I always enjoy seeing those businesses thrive. So if you're a cheesecake lover and you're in Bali, I'd absolutely add Kurro Cheese Factory to your list. And if a local ever says, "You've got to try this place..." I've learnt to stop asking questions. I just go. So far, they haven't steered me wrong yet. 🍰😋
