Run Out of Kids’ Nurofen in Bali? Here’s What We Grab!
If you’re traveling with kids, you’ll know that running out of medicine is never fun! While you can find some familiar brands in Bali, this is the local alternative we use when we need kids’ ibuprofen.
✨ Always check with a pharmacist or doctor to make sure it’s the right option for your child’s age and needs. Dosages and formulations may vary!
If you’re traveling with little ones, it’s always a good idea to pack extra essentials—but if you do get caught out, Bali has great apoteks (pharmacies) with options to help.

If you’re in Bali with the kids and suddenly find yourself at the end of your Nurofen stash, don’t panic! While you might not see the exact brands you’re used to from home, Bali’s pharmacies—called “apoteks”—are excellent and well-stocked with alternatives.
For a child-friendly ibuprofen replacement, we’ve successfully used **Proris Ibuprofen Syrup**, a popular local option that many traveling families turn to. It comes in a sweet orange flavor and is widely available at larger apoteks like Kimia Farma, Guardian, or Century Pharmacies. Just take a photo of your empty bottle or know your child’s dosage and age, and the pharmacists will guide you.
Always double-check with the pharmacist (many speak good English), and when possible, show them the dosage from your home brand. Formulations can vary slightly, so it’s important to confirm the correct dosage for your child’s weight and age.
If you're staying in a more remote area or far from a major pharmacy, grab a Gojek or ride into Ubud, Seminyak, or Canggu, where you’ll find the big-name chains. You can even try apps like **Traveloka** or **Tokopedia** for online pharmacy shopping.
Tip: It’s always smart to restock your kids’ first aid kit early in the trip, just in case. And while you're there, pick up some basic rehydration salts and mosquito repellent, too.
Bali is family-travel friendly in so many ways, and even when you forget the essentials, there are reliable local solutions to help keep your kids happy and healthy on holiday.
