Why We Sold Everything to Move to Bali with Kids

It might seem crazy what I’m ‘bout to say…. Let’s sell the caravan and car and move to Bali! #itmightseemcrazywhatimabouttosay #movetobali #movetobaliwithkids #movingtobalifromaustralia

It might seem crazy, but sometimes taking a leap of faith is the best decision you’ll ever make. That’s what we told ourselves as we sold everything—our caravan, car, and nearly every material possession—to embark on a bold new chapter: moving to Bali with kids. Sure, it sounds like an extreme choice, but for us, it boiled down to one question: _why wait?_ Life in Australia was comfortable, but the promise of a different pace of life, rich culture, and warm smiles in Bali made us take the plunge. Yes, it’s a big move, but with great risk comes great reward. So, why Bali? For starters, the cost of living is significantly lower, enabling us to live more freely while spending quality time as a family. Picture mornings spent at lush rice paddies, afternoons at beaches where the water’s as warm as a bath, and evenings exploring bustling markets—all without breaking the bank. And let’s not forget the incredible community here. Bali’s expat and local communities have been beyond welcoming, proving it’s possible to build a home—even thousands of miles from where you started. Moving with kids? It’s a wild card for sure, but Bali is surprisingly family-friendly. International schools offer top-notch education, while a world of outdoor exploration—think waterfalls, monkey forests, and vibrant festivals—keeps the little ones endlessly curious and happy. If you’re considering such a move, just know it’s not all sunshine and yoga retreats. Packing up your old life can feel daunting, and logistics require patience. But the reward—more time with your children, a slower pace of life, and new cultural adventures—is worth every challenging moment. So, if you’re dreaming of change, ask yourself this: _what’s stopping you?_ After all, the craziest ideas are often the most life-changing. #movetobali #movingwithkids
