One of the less glamorous sides of living in Bali... water damage 😅🏠 If you've spent much time here, you'll know that after a long wet season almost every house has a list of jobs waiting for the dry season. We've been patiently waiting for months to tackle ours. Partly because it's better to do the repairs once everything has had a chance to dry out. And partly because finding a good, reliable tukang can sometimes be an adventure in itself 😂 The good news? We finally have the team here 🙌 The process is pretty straightforward. The damaged paint gets scraped back, the wall is allowed to dry properly, any patching is done and then everything gets repainted. One thing we've learned living here is that many homes have very little waterproofing compared to what we were used to in Australia, so water damage and repainting are just part of home maintenance. It's one of those jobs that doesn't look pretty while it's happening... But hopefully it will look amazing when it's finished 🤍 And the biggest win of all? 🥳 We finally got the broken roof tiles replaced too! Which means hopefully next wet season we'll be spending a little less time chasing leaks and a little more time enjoying the rain 🌧️😂 The reality of Bali life isn't always sunsets and coconuts... sometimes it's walls covered in patching compound and getting way too excited about new roof tiles 😅🌴
