One of the things that continues to blow our minds about Bali is just how much food is grown right here on the island 🌱🤍 Most visitors see the beaches, resorts and rice fields... But head up into the cooler mountain regions of Bedugul and Kintamani and you'll discover where a huge amount of Bali's fresh produce comes from 👀 Vegetables. Strawberries. Carrots. Lettuce. Cabbage. Tomatoes. Herbs. Coffee. The farms seem to stretch forever 🌿 The reason? These regions sit high in the mountains where temperatures are much cooler than the coast, and the rich volcanic soil creates incredible growing conditions. Bedugul sits around 1,500 metres above sea level and enjoys a mild mountain climate, while Kintamani's volcanic landscape has made it one of Bali's most important agricultural regions. It's one of the reasons Bali can produce so much of its own fresh food. And while these areas are changing like the rest of the island, they still feel closer to the Bali of old. Small farms. Roadside produce stalls. Traditional villages. Coffee drying in the sun. Farmers working the land by hand.
