One thing that surprises a lot of Australians when they first come to Bali is that everyday life can look very different to what we're used to 👀 You might see a family of five on a motorbike. You might see workers sitting on top of a truck loaded with bamboo. You might see things that make you do a double take and immediately think, "That would never happen back home!" 😅 And yes, there are definitely conversations to be had around health and safety, infrastructure and different standards around the world. But sometimes what you're also seeing is culture. Community. Friendship. People making the most of what they have. When we saw these guys riding on top of a mountain of bamboo, they weren't looking stressed or unhappy. They were laughing. Sharing stories. Enjoying each other's company. The kind of banter and friendship that seems to make any journey more enjoyable 🤍 One of the things travel teaches us is that not everywhere operates the same way we do. And while some things can be confronting at first, other things remind us that there are many different ways to live, work and connect with the people around us. Sometimes the most memorable travel moments aren't the temples or the beaches. Sometimes it's simply watching everyday life unfold in front of you 🌴✨
