Day 3 in Munduk 🌧️☕️
We set out to answer the question everyone asks: what do you actually do with kids in Munduk?
Plan A involved coffee (always), lake boat rides, fruit picking, flowers, and even the botanical gardens… but the weather had other ideas.
So we pivoted. Said hello to the monkeys on the side of the road, headed back to the villa, and leaned right into slow mountain life.
The staff whipped up another incredible dinner while we bounced between the hot pool, sauna, and couch. Fire lit. Marshmallows toasted. Rain doing its thing outside.
Not the day we planned — but honestly, one of our favourites.
Sometimes Munduk is less about ticking off activities and more about staying put and letting the place do the work.

Day 3 in Munduk promised coffee-infused adventures and nature-filled escapades, yet sometimes, the weather has its own agenda. Our plan? Sipping on freshly brewed coffee, gliding across serene lakes, wandering through botanical gardens, and gathering vibrant fruits and flowers. However, the rain had different designs, which nudged us into a joyous Plan B.
Instead of rigid schedules, we embraced spontaneity. A roadside monkey troop greeted us, providing unexpected entertainment on our journey back to the villa. Once there, slow mountain life warmly enveloped us. The villa staff, ever resourceful, conjured up yet another culinary masterpiece, while we freely indulged in the sauna, dipped in the hot pool, and sunk into the couch’s welcoming embrace. Out on the porch, a crackling fire became the evening's centerpiece, marshmallows browning perfectly over the flames, as rain drummed a soothing rhythm outside.
Though it wasn’t the itinerary we envisioned, this impromptu day etched itself as a family favorite. Munduk, at its heart, isn’t always about a whirlwind of activities. Instead, it shines brightest when you pause, letting the locale’s tranquility wrap around like a comforting hug.
