๐ฅ๏ธ THIS BOAT TOUR WAS VERY DIFFERENT FROM OUR LAST ONE... ๐โจ I'll be honest, I was a little sceptical about doing another boat tour in Lovina. We'd done one before to see the dolphins and, for us, it felt much more like dolphin chasing than dolphin watching. There were over 100 boats on the water, all moving around together like a swarm of bees, and it just wasn't an experience we particularly enjoyed. So when this boat tour was included with our stay at The Hideaway Bali, I made sure to ask about it first. I spoke with the accommodation, who then confirmed with the boat driver that there would be no chasing of dolphins. If we saw them, we'd stay calm, give them space and let them decide how close they wanted to come. And we did see dolphins! ๐ฌโค๏ธ But honestly, the biggest surprise of the morning wasn't the dolphins... It was the bioluminescent plankton. โจ As the water moved around the boat, it started sparkling and glowing beneath us. It was one of those things that photos really don't do justice. And then there were the kids... Bapak, our boat driver, let them sit right up the front while he was driving, with their little toes getting splashed by the water. ๐๐ฆ They absolutely LOVED it. Watching them sitting there, laughing, getting their feet wet and taking it all in was probably my favourite part of the whole experience. Sometimes it's the unexpected things that become the best memories. โค๏ธ A beautiful morning on the water, dolphins in the distance, sparkling plankton beneath us and four kids making memories they'll hopefully remember for years.
