Today is Tumpek Landep in Bali 🔱🤍 You might notice something a little different around Bali on this day… motorbikes, cars, tools, even kitchen knives covered in offerings and blessings. This is Tumpek Landep — often called “Metal Day” ✨ It’s a special day in the Balinese Hindu calendar dedicated to blessing metal objects. Traditionally this meant weapons like kris (ceremonial daggers), but today it includes anything made of metal… motorbikes, cars, machinery, and even electronics. But it’s not just about the objects 👇 The deeper meaning of Tumpek Landep is about sharpening the mind and spirit. “Landep” translates to sharp — not just physically, but mentally and spiritually too. So while you’ll see offerings placed on vehicles and tools, it’s also a reminder to: • stay focused • think clearly • use what we have wisely • and live with intention It’s celebrated every 210 days (based on the Balinese Pawukon calendar), so it comes around more often than you might expect. If you’re in Bali during Tumpek Landep, you’ll likely see: • Offerings placed on motorbikes and cars • Small ceremonies at homes and temples • Families taking time to pray and give thanks It’s one of those beautiful moments where daily life and spirituality blend seamlessly… even your scooter gets a blessing 🛵✨ A gentle reminder that everything we use has purpose… and should be treated with care 🤍
