Two more years in Bali! 🌴🇮🇩❤️ People often ask us what it’s like moving to Bali and building a life here. We share plenty of the fun stuff, but there’s another side that doesn’t make it into the holiday photos. Paperwork. Lots and lots of paperwork. 😂 We’ve just been through our visa renewals through our Indonesian company, and it’s a reminder that living here long-term isn’t as simple as arriving and deciding to stay. Here’s a little of what was involved: 📄 Company paperwork: NIB (business registration), KBLI (registered business activities), NPWP (tax registration), company deeds, Ministry approvals, the latest AHU company profile, shareholding evidence and bank statements. 🤝 An Indonesian company: Our staff member represented the company and attended Immigration with us. 🗣️ An interview: We were asked about our company, its activities and what we actually do. You need to understand your business and be able to explain it. 💰 Fees: Rp7 million per person for our two-year extensions, including the re-entry permit. 📊 Ongoing responsibilities: Accounting, tax, staff responsibilities and business reporting continue between renewals. And this is the part people don’t always see. When it’s time to renew, you need to demonstrate what you’re doing here, why you’re here and how your business operates and contributes to the country. We sometimes wonder if this is one reason people find the first couple of years easier than staying long-term. Getting established is one thing. Keeping everything compliant as the years go by is another. We check for changes to regulations and requirements every month because we want to do things properly and keep our business operating within the rules. We love the life we’ve built in Bali, but we’re very aware that living here is a privilege that comes with responsibilities. It’s not always glamorous, but it’s part of building a life overseas. And today, we’re celebrating another two years here together. ❤️🌴 Our experience as at October 2026. Requirements, eligibility and fees can vary and change so always check the latest regulations with Indonesian Immigration or a qualified professional. #LivingInBali
