🇮🇩 WANT TO TRY INDONESIAN STREET FOOD BUT DON’T KNOW WHERE TO START? 👀 These are a couple of my favourites that I think are a pretty easy way to dip your toes into Indonesian street food. They’re familiar enough that they don’t feel too intimidating, but still give you a taste of some classic Indonesian flavours. 🤤 🍫 TERANG BULAN Think of a thick, fluffy stuffed pancake that’s basically dessert. 😂 The chocolate + peanut version usually comes with: 🍫 Chocolate 🥜 Crushed peanuts 🧈 Butter 🥛 Condensed milk 🥞 Thick, fluffy pancake It’s sweet, rich and definitely one to share because the portions can be HUGE! 🍳 MARTABAK AYAM A crispy, savoury stuffed pancake made with: 🐔 Chicken 🥚 Egg 🥬 Vegetables 🌿 Spring onions/herbs 🧂 Seasoning It’s crispy on the outside, soft and savoury inside and completely different from the sweet terang bulan. And if you’re feeling a little nervous about trying Indonesian food for the first time, these are a great place to start. You don’t have to jump straight into the most unfamiliar thing on the menu. 😂 Sometimes you just start with something that looks a little familiar, give it a go… and then work your way from there. 🇮🇩 What’s the first Indonesian street food you tried in Bali? And what should someone try if they’re just starting to explore Indonesian food? 👇🏼
