What’s in My Travel Bag? Learning Bahasa Indonesia in Bali

🎒 What’s in my bag? (in Bahasa Indonesia 🇮🇩) Not perfect, but I’m learning and loving it! Be kind — still a work in progress 😅💬 #BelajarBahasaIndonesia #WhatsInMyBag #BaliLife #LanguageLearning #ChadAndMia

Selamat datang from beautiful Bali! 🌴 As our family dives into this island paradise, we’re not just soaking up the sun—we’re soaking up the language too. Learning Bahasa Indonesia has become one of the most exciting (and humbling) parts of our adventure. So, what’s in my travel bag? Let’s take a peek — with a little Bahasa along the way! 🇮🇩🎒 📚 **Buku catatan (Notebook):** Daily vocabulary lessons go everywhere with me. Jotting down new words from chats at the market or tips from our language teacher keeps the learning constant and contextual. 🎧 **Headphones:** For listening to podcasts like “Speak Indonesian” while at the beach or during scooter rides through rice fields. Immersion is key! 📱 **Aplikasi Bahasa (Language apps):** Duolingo and Google Translate are lifesavers when ordering food or chatting with locals who are always so kind and encouraging. Terima kasih, Bali! 🧴 **Essentials for island life:** Sunscreen, reusable water bottle, and snacks for the kids (nasi goreng-flavored crackers are the new favorite). Pro tip: bring a sarong — useful for temples, picnics, or unexpected rain showers! 📷 **Camera & journal:** Capturing memories while penning down thoughts in English and Bahasa is helping us reflect—and improve. Learning a new language as a family adds so much meaning to our travels. Locals open up, our kids pick up words faster than we do (jealous!), and Bali feels more like home every day. Belajar bahasa satu kata setiap hari! (Learn one word each day!) It's not perfect, but it’s progress—and that’s what counts. Terus berlatih, friends! 💬😅 #BelajarBahasaIndonesia #WhatsInMyBag #FamilyTravel #BaliLife #LanguageLearning #ChadAndMia
