Is fruit safe to eat in Bali? ๐๐ฅญ๐ This is a question we get asked quite a bit, so let me show you what we do as a family living here! Todayโs fruit shop included salak (snake fruit), mandarins, mangoes and watermelon, and the whole lot came to 150k IDR. ๐ฎ๐ฉ And yes, we eat fresh fruit all the time! For fruit with a peel, like mandarins, mangoes and watermelon, we wash the outside before cutting or peeling it. For things like apples, grapes and lettuce, I give them a good rinse under clean running water before eating. Iโm not overly worried about buying fruit in Bali, and I certainly wouldnโt want anyone to miss out on all the delicious fresh produce here. โค๏ธ That said, food safety is worth keeping in mind wherever you travel. Wash fruit and vegetables thoroughly with safe drinking water, avoid produce that looks damaged or has been sitting cut up in the heat, and peel it yourself when possible. Washing helps reduce dirt and germs, but it doesnโt remove every risk. Weโve found plenty of lovely fruit shops around Bali, and fresh mangoes are definitely one of my favourite things about living here! ๐๐ฅญ Tell me, do you eat fresh fruit when you visit Bali, or is it something youโre still a little unsure about? ๐๐ผ #BaliTravelTips #LivingInBali #BaliWithKids #BaliFood #BaliFamilyFinds
