My garden is making me ridiculously happy lately. 🥹🌱💚 I don’t know what it is about growing your own food, but there’s something so satisfying about wandering outside and seeing little things growing that you planted yourself. Tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, beans, jalapeños… and apparently, cucumbers that grow into little smiles. 😂🥒 I couldn’t resist holding this one up to my face for a photo because tell me that isn’t the happiest cucumber you’ve ever seen! 🤣 Living in Bali has given us the opportunity to slow down a little in some ways and appreciate the simple things. Watching something grow, checking what’s ready to pick, seeing new flowers appear and getting excited when the next little harvest is ready. It’s funny because these aren’t necessarily big, life-changing moments. They’re just little everyday things. But sometimes those are the things that bring the most joy. There’s also something lovely about knowing exactly where some of your food has come from, walking outside to pick it and finding ways to use it in dinner that night. Although I’m still working on making sure I don’t eat all the cherry tomatoes straight off the plant before they make it inside. 😂🍅 I’m definitely no expert gardener, and I’m learning as I go, but that’s part of the fun. Some things thrive, some things don’t quite go to plan, and sometimes you end up with a cucumber that looks like it’s smiling back at you. And honestly, if a funny-shaped vegetable can make me this happy, maybe it’s the little things we need to pay more attention to. 🤍 Tell me, do you grow any of your own food at home? Little baby cherry tomatoes are everywhere Cucumbers… we have already harvested about 25! Jalapeños- kids are wanting to make jalapeño poppers Green beans have been killed by the heat! They are starting to turn red! Yay 🙌🏼
