The Magic of Live Performances: A Childhood Memory in Bali

The first stage show I ever remember seeing was Peter Pan at the Capitol Theatre. Well… if I’m being honest, my actual first was Sesame Street Live with my dad when I was about three. But the first real one—the one that truly stuck—was Peter Pan. I still remember the moment Peter and Wendy soared high above the audience. My little mind was completely bewildered. It felt like magic, like anything was possible. That feeling of wonder has never really left me. Chad, on the other hand, grew up playing in the band for so many stage shows. And here’s a little fun fact you might not know—he can still rip out a few show tunes on guitar, bass guitar, or even double bass if you ask nicely! Music and theatre were a huge part of his childhood, and it’s something we both feel is so important. But these days, I don’t think kids are exposed to enough of it. The magic of live performances, the energy of a stage, the way a story can come to life in front of you—it’s something truly special. That’s why this moment meant so much to us. This is a photo of us at the Varuna Underwater Theatre Stage Show inside Bali Safari Park. The performance, the music, the costumes, and of course—the real-life underwater mermaids—were just mesmerizing. Watching the kids sit in awe, eyes wide with wonder, I couldn’t help but think… this might just be their “Peter Pan” moment. The performance they’ll remember forever. And honestly? That’s what makes it all worth it. 💙✨ 📍 @varunabali 📍 @balisafari #StageShowMagic #ChildhoodMemories #BaliSafariPark #UnderwaterTheatre #MermaidMagic #LivePerformance #ChadAndMia #BaliWithKids #MakingMemories
