Surprises of Bali's Rainy Season: A Little Wet, A Lot Memorable
Loading video player...
Great day to be a fish in Bali… not so great for the washing I thought was safe overnight. Rainy season just won’t leave us alone- she had other plans! 🤦♀️🌧️
Planning a family trip to Bali during the rainy season? Don’t let a few surprise showers soak your fun—Bali has a different kind of magic when it rains, and it might just leave you with some of your most memorable moments.
Sure, waking up to find your freshly washed clothes drenched again (thanks, midnight downpour!) can be a little frustrating. But you’ll soon realize that the rainy season in Bali, typically from November to March, isn’t a non-stop deluge—it’s more like brief, dramatic rain shows followed by stretches of blue skies and sunshine.
With kids in tow, it’s all about adapting your plans. Early mornings are your best friend—many days start bright and dry, offering perfect windows for exploring temples, swinging through tree canopies in Bali Treetop Adventure Park, or enjoying a splash at Waterbom Bali. When the skies do open up, it’s the perfect excuse to dive into indoor fun—think hands-on Balinese cooking classes for the whole family, colorful art workshops, or visiting the engaging and kid-friendly 3D Dream Museum Zone.
Pack light but smart: raincoats, quick-dry clothing, and waterproof shoes can save the day. And when all else fails? Embrace the wet. Our kids will tell you their favorite moment was a spontaneous rain dance in the rice paddies of Ubud, followed by hot chocolate and warm banana fritters.
Bali’s rainy season isn’t an obstacle—it’s an invitation to slow down, get creative, and experience the island from a new perspective. Just be sure to bring your sense of humor... and maybe keep that laundry inside next time!
