Day 2 in Amed: Family Adventures, Food Finds & Ocean Fun on Our Bali Road Trip

Loading video player...

Day 2 of our Bali road trip to Amed and it was packed with little adventures! We started the morning early with sunrise coffees and drone flights over the coastline, then enjoyed pancakes and fresh fruit at our villa. Chad and I hired a scooter for the day (about $15) and stopped for a morning coffee on the way into town. After a quick supplies run, we headed back to the villa to try turtle spotting with the drone — no luck, but so much fun! Lunch was at Warung Enak in Amed (a great local spot for delicious Indonesian food), then we popped by Amed Salt to stock up. Back at the villa, we played UNO, went for an ocean swim, and even tried underwater rock running (way harder than it looks!). Later in the afternoon, Lola and I grabbed frozen yogurt, then it was back into town for dinner at Warung Bobo. We hired glass-bottom kayaks and saw the most incredible coral and tropical fish. The perfect end to the day? A quick ice cream stop at Indomaret before heading home to rest for more adventures tomorrow. Amed is the perfect spot if you’re looking for family-friendly activities in Bali, quiet beaches, and a slower pace of life away from the tourist crowds. ☕️ @omkarmacafebali 🍽️ @warung_enak_amed 🧂 @garam.amedbali 🍨 @sweetumsforthetums 🍲 @warungbobo 🍦 @indomaret #AmedBali #BaliFamilyFinds #ChadAndMia #BaliRoadTrip #BaliWithKids

Day 2 in Amed began with a golden sunrise and strong coffee at our villa — the perfect way to fuel a full day of family adventures. While the kids played, Chad and I launched the drone for some scenic flights over the stunning coastline. Breakfast was light and tropical: banana pancakes and piles of fresh fruit. We hired a scooter for just $15, which made zipping around Amed super easy. A quick morning coffee stop at @omkarmacafebali gave us our caffeine fix before a supplies run into town. Back at the villa, we tried spotting sea turtles with the drone — no sightings, but lots of laughs! Lunch? Absolutely delicious. We grabbed a table at the always-reliable @warung_enak_amed for plates of mie goreng and satay. We stopped by @garam.amedbali to stock up on locally harvested Amed sea salt, a lovely souvenir that supports the community. Afternoon chill time included a few competitive rounds of UNO, a splash in the ocean, and an unexpected but hilarious family challenge — underwater rock running (pro tip: it’s intense but super fun!). Later, Lola and I cooled off with frozen yogurt from @sweetumsforthetums, while the boys recharged poolside. Our highlight of the day? Renting glass-bottom kayaks in the early evening. Gliding over coral gardens bursting with neon fish felt like paddling through an aquarium. We wrapped up with a relaxed dinner at @warungbobo, where the grilled fish was a hit with the kids. One final sweet treat — an ice cream run to @indomaret — sealed the perfect Bali day. Amed truly offers the ideal mix for traveling families: calm beaches, friendly locals, and easy adventures without the tourist bustle. Whether you're snorkeling, paddling, or just soaking up those coastal views, it's a gem worth discovering.
