There’s something really special about these views 🌿🤍 What you’re looking at isn’t just beautiful… it’s a system that has been feeding Bali for centuries. Bali’s rice fields are part of a traditional farming system called Subak, which dates back over 1000 years. It’s a community-based irrigation system where farmers share water, plan crops together, and work in harmony with nature and each other. And it works. 🌾 Around 100,000+ hectares of land in Bali are used for rice farming 🌾 In 2024 alone, Bali produced over 635,000 tons of rice 🌾 Much of this is used to feed the local population Rice is grown 2–3 times per year thanks to the tropical climate, volcanic soil, and constant water supply from the mountains. It’s not just farming… it’s culture, community, and sustainability all working together. When you stand here, you’re not just looking at fields. You’re looking at a system that has supported generations, long before tourism ever arrived. Bali really does know how to live off the land 🤍
