Raising Global Citizens: Our Family’s Bali Adventure

Some days, Chad and I look at each other, look at the kids, and just exhale—we know how lucky we are. This life we’re living, the experiences we’re having, the places we’re seeing—it’s something we never take for granted. We grew up with travel being an exciting, occasional thing—family road trips, camping adventures, or that one big holiday that left a lasting mark. I still remember the thrill of seeing a place for the first time, of feeling small in a world that was so much bigger than my little corner of it. And now, here we are, watching our kids live that every single day. They’ve swapped school desks for beachside cafes, swapped routine for discovery, and adapted to a life that is constantly shifting and changing. And they’ve done it with so much grace, so much joy. They embrace new foods, new customs, new languages, and new friendships without hesitation. Do they know how wildly lucky they are? I think so. But they’re also just kids—kids who still fight over snacks, roll their eyes at their parents, and have their grumpy moments. But they’re also kids who get to wake up to adventure, who have learned that the world is not one-size-fits-all, and who will carry these experiences with them for the rest of their lives. We don’t take any of this for granted. Not for a second. We are privileged, and we know it. And we are endlessly grateful for the opportunity to give our kids this life. So, terima kasih banyak, Bali—thank you for teaching us, for welcoming us, and for giving our family this season of magic. 🙏💛 What’s a childhood memory of travel that has stuck with you? I’d love to hear it! ⬇️ #GratefulHeart #LuckyKids #BaliLife #TravelAsEducation #FamilyAdventures #TerimaKasihBali
