Bali Rain Season: What’s Your Wet Weather Game Plan?

Where are you Wednesday? 🌧️ I’m out the door in full Bali wet season mode – poncho, wet bag, shammie, even a waterproof phone case. Do you pack these things for Bali, or do you just embrace the rain and get soaked? With the wet season creeping up (and the rain we’ve already had), I’m curious – what’s your Bali rain game plan? #WhereAreYouWednesday #BaliWetSeason #BaliTravelTips #FamilyTravelBali #BaliWithKids
Bali’s wet season—usually from November to March—brings warm rains, lush greenery, and fewer crowds. It also brings the daily afternoon downpour that can catch unprepared travelers by surprise. But with the right mindset (and gear), you’ll love exploring Bali in the rain just as much as under sunny skies.
First things first: pack for the puddles. A lightweight poncho or rain jacket is a must, especially for scooter rides. Wet bags come in handy for storing soggy clothes or keeping your gear dry, and we swear by microfiber shammies—they dry fast, take up no space, and double as rain-catchers when needed. Oh, and don’t forget that waterproof phone case—because let’s face it, no one wants a soggy selfie fail at Tegallalang.
Traveling with kids during Bali’s wet season? Embrace the slower mornings and plan indoor-friendly activities like Ubud’s art workshops, chocolate-making classes, or a relaxed day in your villa with games and local snacks. Many family-friendly cafes and co-working spaces on the island offer play areas and rainy-day retreats.
The biggest tip? Don’t fight the weather—flow with it. Bali’s rainstorms often pass quickly, and the post-rain glow is pure magic. Waterfalls are at their most powerful, rice fields turn neon green, and there’s a certain peace that settles over the island.
So whether you're heading out poncho-clad or drenched and smiling, remember—there’s no wrong way to do Bali. Just make a little room in your daypack for wet-weather essentials and prepare to fall in love with the rhythm of the island, rain and all. ☔🌿
