The less you plan, the more magic happens. đâ¨
Travelling with kids doesnât have to be chaotic.
Hereâs what we learned after months in Bali:
âď¸ Skip tight itinerariesâgo with the flow
âď¸ Always carry snacks + swimmers
âď¸ Say yes to a spontaneous beach stop
âď¸ Temples, rice fields, and waterfalls = natural classrooms
âď¸ Nap in the Grab, not the villa đ´
Bali doesnât ask you to do more. It invites you to experience moreâtogether.

Traveling to Bali with kids might sound like a logistical puzzle, but what if less planning actually makes it more magical? After spending months exploring Bali as a family, weâve found that letting go of rigid schedules often leads to unforgettable moments. đâ¨
Instead of cramming the day with back-to-back plans, we embraced a slower rhythm. Leaving space in your day allows spontaneous beach stops, unexpected temple visits, and joyful detours to hidden waterfalls. Tip: always keep snacks and swimsuits in your daypackâchances are, youâll need them!
One of our favorite discoveries? Naps happen best in the back of a Grab car rather than rushing home to the villa. Kids recharge, parents relax, and no one's day gets derailed. Plus, Baliâs lush rice terraces and vibrant temple ceremonies turn into natural classrooms, sparking curiosity without feeling like âlearning.â
Weâve also learned to say yesâyes to that roadside fruit stand, yes to an impromptu splash in a rice field canal, yes to joining a village ceremony we just happened to stumble upon. These unscripted experiences became the moments our kids talk about most.
In Bali, the island itself becomes your co-parentâpatient, vibrant, and full of wonder. You donât need to do more, you just need to be present and aware. The magic reveals itself when you slow down and truly explore together.
So toss the strict itinerary. Trust the journey. And let Bali show your family what it means to live in the moment.
