When is the best time to visit Bali as a family?
Here’s your month-by-month guide👇
We live here with our 4 kids, and this is what we’d want other Aussie families to know!
🌴 January–March
It’s rainy season! Humid, wet, and quiet. Expect great deals and fewer crowds — just pack ponchos and plan indoor days.
🌤 April–June
A sweet spot! Dry season starts, but crowds are still low. Great weather + better prices = ideal time for families.
☀️ July–August
Peak season! Aussie school holidays = bigger crowds, higher prices, amazing weather. Book early!
🌞 September–October
Still dry, but way less crowded. Great for families with younger kids not tied to school terms. Budget-friendly too.
🌧 November–December
Rain starts creeping back, but festive vibes in December are fun! Christmas in Bali is beautiful (and busy).
🏝️ Happy holiday in Bali 🥰

Planning a Bali holiday with the kids? We’ve been living in Bali with our four little ones and have experienced the island in every season. Here’s the month-by-month guide Aussie families need to find the best time to visit Bali!

🌴 January–March: Rainy season sets in. It’s hot, humid, and often wet — but don’t let that scare you off. Accommodation is cheaper, tourist spots are quiet, and there’s still plenty to love indoors (think waterparks, cooking classes, art spaces). Just pack ponchos and maybe a few puzzles for rainy afternoons.

🌤 April–June: This is Bali’s hidden gem of a season. The rain eases, everything’s lush, and the island isn’t too crowded. With affordable flights and lovely weather, this is our top pick for families who can travel outside of the peak school holiday window.

☀️ July–August: It’s peak dry season — and the island’s buzzing! Perfect weather, blue skies, and beach-friendly days. But it’s busy and prices do climb, so book early. Great for Aussie school holidays, just be ready to share the sand with more holidaymakers.

🌞 September–October: Still warm and dry, but fewer crowds and better rates. Ideal for families with toddlers or little ones not in school yet. You get the best of Bali without the bustle.

🌧 November–December: The wet season returns, though early November often stays dry. December is magical with Christmas decorations, markets, and family-friendly festivities—just expect higher prices and plan indoor activities as rain chances grow.

Bonus Tip: Whenever you go, pack sunscreen, mozzie repellent, and a spirit of adventure — Bali with kids is always unforgettable! 🏝️
